Turning a Room into a Real Zoo!
, 04 20th, 2009Most toddlers are fascinated with animals, and for most if not all children, there’s nothing better than a trip to the zoo. When a toddler starts to display that certain fascination with animals, it’s a nice gesture to redesign their room into a real zoo. Kids love animals like zebras, elephants, gorillas, hippos, and rhinos, and when decorating a room, it’s a good idea to keep these big animals in mind or other animals that have drawn their fascination. To get started decorating, a good place to begin is the walls. Paint the walls a tropical color and provide a border of wallpaper featuring animals. You might even do some animal silhouettes on the walls. Next address the bedding: consider animal comforters, and stuffed animals that can serve as pillows. The last step is to accessorize the room with all sorts of fun animal décor. Don’t be afraid to get creative, and also, thrift stores are a great option for finding fun accessories.
Your child will thank you once you’ve finished their indoor zoo, and their room will prove a fun place to sleep, play, and be with mom and dad for years to come.
Kids Have Too Much Clothing!
, 04 02nd, 2009With three children all under the age of five running around the house, I almost always have my hands full. My oldest is almost five, and the younger two are one and three. It’s always hectic around the house, especially when it comes to clothing. It seems that every ten minutes I’m changing the clothing on one of my children. For this reason, I’ve placed hampers not just in my kid’s rooms, but all around the house. I have one hamper in the kitchen, one in the bathroom, and another in the kids play room. Before I had all those hampers, kids clothing was everywhere, but now at least most of it makes its way into the proper place!
I know that one day my kids will grow up and I’ll be able to tell them to put away their clothes, but until then, I think my house will always feel like a Laundromat!
